There are three primary realities that sustain my heart in prayer; the worthiness of Jesus, God enjoys us, and The Lord responds to Prayer.
The second reality is that God enjoys us. One of the biggest hindrances to a believer engaging in prayer is connected to how he/she believes God feels about them. When we perceive God as frustrated, disappointed, or even bored with us; we will draw back from spending time with Him. This is far from the truth. The reality is that God desires unending fellowship with each one of us and He enjoys every moment. Before our hearts can connect to the reality of God’s delight in us, we must consider His great desire for us. Jesus continually sees every individual and there is no escaping His gaze. Jesus has given each one of us His full attention and He waits with a yearning heart for us to lift our gaze towards Him. His desire is a love that burns deep and is fully expressed in His coming to the earth as a man and dying on a cross.
“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. (John 17:24)
