John 8

Then Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

Take a few moments and step away from distractions. Turn off the volume on your phone and close your laptop. You can even step outside for just a few minutes to quiet your environment. Thank Jesus that he is the light of your world. Thank him that because he is here with you right now that you do not have to be in the dark in any area.

Ask him if he would like to bring light to a particular situation or mindset. Remain quiet until something comes to mind. Write it down and thank him for the light and clarity he is bringing. If nothing comes to mind, set your alarm for later in the day and ask him again.

John 14

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Take a moment to reflect on these words of Jesus. Thank him for revealing to you that he is the only way to the Father. Invite him to share anything new with you about this verse and what it says about him. Write down what comes to mind. Thank Jesus for giving you deeper understanding of himself.

Exodus 33
The Lord spoke with Moses face to face, just as a man speaks with his friend.

John 15
I do not call you slaves anymore, because a slave doesn’t know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from My Father.

Take a deep breath, clear your mind of things that distract, and begin a conversation with God. Thank him for relating to you as a friend. Thank him for sharing what he is doing in your life and in the lives of those around you. Ask him how he would like to relate to you as a friend in this season. Write down the ways that come to mind.

psalm 139
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.

Wholeness comes when we give God permission to every part of us. Take a moment to communicate your desire for God to bring his power to every area of your being. Simply say, "God, I give you permission to search every part of me. Show me where I haven't given you access and influence. Now, come and bring life to every area within me."

As he highlights areas where you have not given him full access to areas of your being, write them down, share them with a close friend and communicate how you plan to give him access moving forward.

psalm 91
The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Take a deep breath, clear your mind as best you can, and tell the Lord that you trust him. Then just be still for a moment. Ask him to bring to mind any area you are not trusting him. Write down these areas. Be still for another moment. Invite him to show you how to trust him in these areas. Thank him for empowering you to trust him.
